Support can look like: reviewing diagnostic evaluations, psychological reports, IEPs, and treatment plans; reaching out to providers to assess availability, waitlists, and fit; and creating a curated shortlist of therapy providers or private and independent school options. Support may also include preparation for school and provider conversations, guidance around educational placement decisions, and education on neuro-affirming care and therapy models. Families receive help prioritizing next steps and sequencing care in a way that feels realistic and sustainable, with consideration for budget, logistics, and emotional load. Each engagement includes a clear action plan with timelines and recommendations, a follow-up care summary outlining next steps, and ongoing check-ins by phone or email to provide clarity, continuity, and support as needs evolve.

What is Autism Family Navigation?
Autism Family Navigation is about bringing calm and clarity to a moment that often feels overwhelming.
An Autism Family Navigator helps families make sense of options, ask the right questions, and move forward without judgment or urgency. Instead of sorting through endless information alone, families receive guidance, perspective, and a clear roadmap tailored to their child, their values, and their real-life constraints.
At CAE, navigation isn’t about telling families what to do. It’s about helping them feel informed, supported, and confident in the decisions they make.
